Address the hot-button issues.   Speak in picture, and  feeling.   Let you words paint pictures in the mind of your readers/listeners.   Speak to the emotions, and then speak to the mind. 

The Economy: 

Each month Mr. Bush is deficit spending ten billion dollars on Iraq and Afghanistan, alone.   Every nickel of that money comes out of the American economy and shows up as increased prices for gas, food, medicine, rent, et cetera.

It is absolutely essential to stop the George Bush deficit spending, NOW!   Deficit spending is THE  cause of the nation's financial problems.   If not stopped, it will produce a depression worse than that of the 1930's.

Speak for the Team and as the Team Leader: 

Have the team run for president and not just a single individual.   If you claim to be different,  here's a major and I mean Major way do demonstrate the difference.   Stop selling ego and personality.            Bring the people on board.  

Find some old recordings of Arthur Godfrey and watch them.    Notice how he entered the viewer's world and became their friend.    With regard to the ability to connect the viewers/listeners/audience, former President Regan was also a master of this technique.  Study and duplicate the mastery of these two men.

Compare Republicans with Democrats: 

Compare the Bush/McCain Team with the Obama Team.   Expose the dozens of major criminal activities and incredibly unethical activities of Republicans during the past eight years.  Ask,  "Are these the kind of people you want running the country for another four years?" 

Bring up a long list of the most credible Democrats.   Say these are the people who will assist me and advise me during the Obama Administration.   We don't claim to be perfect, but I will say this:  Criminal activities by trusted elected officials will not be tolerated under an Obama Administration.

The Risk Issue: 

Senator Obama is called the Riskier candidate,  when the evidence points in exactly the opposite direction.    Who Is the Riskier Candidate ²    

Dump the Liberal Label: 

Progressive is simple "liberal" by a new name.   You must declare and demonstrate that you are different.   Become A Reasonable.   "On some issues I'm conservative, on others, I'm liberal, and on still others, I simply don't yet have enough information to hold a strong opinion one way or the other."

About John McCain-Bush: 

Focus on his weak point.   

1)    He is a Clone of George Bush  

2)    His Age:   McCain Is Too Old.       Focus on his demeanor.   Focus on his body language.  Focus on his walk (the old folks shuffle)    Focus on how much of the time we see him just standing there as if standing were a job.  

3)    He's become a flip flopper.   In the 2000 Presidential campaign, Senator McCain was adamantly opposed to negative campaign ads.   Now, in desperation, he is an negative-campaign advocate.  

Redefine your opponent's strong points as if they were his week points.

Responding to Challenges And Dirty Tricks: 

Answer all challenges and negative charges immediately.

Remember "the L word" ²  form the Regan-endorsed  Bush  Sr. / Dukakis election in 1988.   Regan claimed that the word "Liberal" was so obscene that you could not say the word.   Like you can't say the "F" word, with the "L" word,  Michale Dukakis was labeled as an obscene liberal.  For an example of how to do this, see the page titled:  Who Is the Riskier Candidate ²
